Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kano State in partnership with Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited and Whitefield Foundation will empower 20,000 Youth across the 44 local governments of Kano state with employability, entrepreneurship and financial skills in a bid to make the beneficiaries self-reliant through the Special Intervention Program (SIP) which is an initiative developed by Whitefield Foundation and sponsored by Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited. 

The strategic partnership is also supported by Sterling Bank, MSME Africa and the Capstone.


The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kano State Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya noted that the initiative is an innovative approach to improve the livelihood of Kano Youth and also to address the unemployment gap in the state. While reaffirming that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR led administration will continue to prioritize youth welfare in its agenda. It is however, rightful to mention some of the efforts and achievements made by this administration to cater for the Development of the youth such as:  Establishment of a multibillion naira ultra modern Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre and fully equipped with relevant training facilities, Training of 2,445 youth on welding, fabrication, tailoring, motor mechanic, tricycle machine repairs, Air condition/refrigerator repairs, leather works among others.


As part of the initiative, the Whitefield Foundation has opened a virtual portal: www.Whitefieldfoundation.ng to enable applicants to apply. Application will be closed by the end of December, after which training will commence on January, 2022. At the end of the training, Whitefield Foundation will give the trainees grants to either register their businesses, inject into their businesses or as seed fund to access single digit agricultural loans from Sterling Bank.

● Must be an indigent of Kano State 

● Age bracket of 18-45 years

● Must have an email address
