Man Allegedly Sues MTN For Unlawfully Deducting N50 From His Airtime, Gets N5 Million Compensation

A Nigerian man has allegedly dragged Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) to court over unlawful deduction of N50 from his airtime.

According to reports, the man identified as Emmanuel Anenih allegedly took the Telecom company to court. He accused MTN of deducting his airtime in the name of unsolicited caller tunes, he never subscribed to.

Reacting to this, he took MTN to Abuja high court and he was compensated with the sum of N5 million after the Telecom company was found guilty.

The court ordered the company to compensate Emmanuel for removing N50 from his airtime.

Furthermore, for MTN disturbing his peace and another 500,000 for legal expenses.
